= ) that was my first guess . . . very similar without the bulbous head. The tail fin is red and only the last quarter of the dorsal fin is red, and its front is red. I will see if I can get a picture of it in its best colours (as right when I turn on the light it is a very dark colour with an ugly brown instead of red) It takes about 5 minutes in the light to reach its white phase with the red highlights.

computer and camera both of the fritz . . . but I did find out what type of fish it was . . . black belt cichlid. I found out by seeing it for display in the store I donated it to, the fish seems to draw a lot of attention, but the price they set on it was keeping people at bay (30 pounds)
